Accreditation & Disclosures

Charleston Southern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. Charleston Southern University is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. However, young men and women of all faiths are invited to pursue an education at CSU. The university is under the supervision of the Board of Trustees (elected by the South Carolina Baptist Convention), who are charged with leading the university to fulfill the purposes for which it was originally chartered. Income for the university is derived from tuition, endowments, gifts, funds from the South Carolina Baptist Convention and friends who believe in the purposes of the institution.
