Psst. You found Bucky, the Buccaneer! Our much loved mascot finds his way to cheer on his team at each home football game. Many wonder about the origin of Bucky!
The story goes that in 1965 Baptist College at Charleston students showed up at BCC’s first basketball game against Anderson Junior College at the borrowed College of Charleston gym, wearing eyepatches and bandanas and waving signs that said Buccaneers. Since that night, we have been the Buccaneers. Over the years, Bucky, the Buccaneers’ mascot, has been through a series of changes from a humble homemade outfit to today’s professional athletic mascot costume. Bucky makes appearances at games, events on campus and in the greater Charleston community.
Arghhh you ready to join the crew?
